Here Are The 5 Things You Shouldn’t Have To Do If Your Relationship Is Meant To Be

Movies can be entertaining but sometimes we read too much into and believe that art really imitates real life, when it really doesn’t. It’s hard to grasp the concept of finding “the one” and how do you actually you know when you have found this mythical “one”. They say listen to your gut, ‘cos it will tell you but at times, even our gut could be wrong when it concerns love.

A lot have this misconception that love means sacrifice and giving your all but that’s not at all the case. For a relationship to work, it takes more than just undying love because let’s face it, in this day and age, that’s simply not enough. So, how do you know if your relationship is meant to be or not? Well, here are some of the things that you shouldn’t have to do if it’s meant to be:

Change yourself – Change for the better is always great but if you have to constantly change the way you are, the way you think just to please him then chances are this relationship is doomed. You want to be with someone who truly appreciates you – flaws and all. Growth as a couple is great but pressure to change who you are is not.

Beg – I hate this word but if the person you’re with needs convincing to stay and to believe that you’re the one for him then it’s really not meant to be is it? When you beg somebody to love you, you’ll never be truly happy and find the kind of love you’re looking for and deserve.

Run after him – The movies teach us to run after the one you love, bare your heart and soul and then live happily ever after. That’s not going to cut in real life because if someone wants to leave then it means they don’t want to be with you. You cannot force someone to stay if they don’t want to and if that person thinks you’re the one he wants to spend the rest of his life with, he will know from the beginning.

Be unsure – I think that it’s really hard to really know from the get-go if you have found the one, but one thing that should be clear is how he feels about you. You shouldn’t waste your time with somebody who doesn’t even know what he wants out of a relationship.

Lie – If you have to lie to your family and friends about him then there’s something wrong somewhere. If you are ashamed to tell the whole truth about him to your loved ones, then you definitely know something is off and so is he. You should be proud of the person you’re dating, not be sneaky about it.
