One of my favourite shows in the world would have to be Sex & the City, I could watch the series over and over, season by season again and I will just not get sick of it. There is so much to love about it: The story lines, the fashion and of course, the characters. While I found myself more connected to Samantha Jones and Charlotte York, I loved the words of wisdom that usually came from the main protagonist of the show, Carrie Bradshaw who was played by Sarah Jessica Parker.
Here are some of the best Carrie Bradshaw quotes you should live by:
1. “Don’t forget to fall in love with yourself first.”
One of my favourite quotes and definitely one of the ones you should take seriously. She reminds us all that while it is nice to be loved by somebody, it more important to be love yourself. Because if you don’t love yourself and see your self worth, it will reflect on how you let others treat you.
2. “Maybe the past is like an anchor holding us back. Maybe you have to let go of who you were to become who you will be.”
While past events can affect us, it is important not to let it define us. People change and by holding on the the past, you’re restricting yourself from being able to become the best version of your future self.
3. “When real people fall down in life, they get right back up and keep walking.”
This is so true. There are so many things in life that will happen and make you feel like we want to give up but that’s the last thing you can do because what doesn’t kill you will only make you stronger. Rise above the challenge and it will take you so far in life.
4. “Every once in a while, a girl has to indulge herself.”
This applies to everything. From shopping to food, you got to let go of the reigns sometimes and just indulge. When you’re working so hard everyday, it’s okay to let loose once in a while.
5. “Being single used to mean that nobody wanted you. Now it means you’re pretty sexy and you’re taking your time deciding how you want your life to be and who you want to spend it with.”
Being single doesn’t mean you have to be lonely and it certainly isn’t the worst thing in the world. Being single allows you really get in touch with yourself and really get to know yourself before getting involved with someone in a relationship.
