In partnership with the IKEA Foundation, UNICEF and Save the Children, IKEA’s Soft Toys for Education campaign returns for its 13th year. For the first time this year, IKEA introduces SAGOSKATT – a collection featuring characters drawn by 1o children from across the globe.

Terrence Wan, a 7-year-old Malaysian boy is one of these lucky children. His creation, a lovable dragon with a toothy smile, was merely a fragment of his imagination when he took part in the Global Soft Toys Drawing Competition last year. Now, Wan’s creation is turned into a fluffy hand puppet and sold at a number of IKEA stores worldwide.

Yearly, the IKEA Foundation donates €1 (approximately RM4.25) for every soft toy sold in participating IKEA stores in November and December. The money is then donated to Save the Children and UNICEF to be spent on children’s educational projects.

Since its first Soft Toys campaign in 2003, the IKEA Foundation has donated €67 million to UNICEF and Save the Children, allowing more than 11 million children throughout 46 countries to have access to better education.

Held in conjunction with Christmas, the Soft Toys for Education campaign takes place from 8 November to 2 January 2016 at IKEA Damansara and IKEA Cheras, when it opens on November 19. Make sure to check out all the creations at an IKEA store near you!
