Why Having Your Sister As A Best Friend Is The Best Thing Ever!

As a child, having an older or little sister meant things could get really annoying at times, and by things I mean them. Having an elder sister meant you’d have to put up with being ordered around, while a younger sister meant you’re usually forced to take her along wherever you went. However, as I got a little older and a little more mature (let’s face it, some us will never grow up!), I realised that having a sister is possibly the best thing ever. To be honest, I didn’t even have to make new friends if I didn’t want to because I had my sister.

When your sister is your best friend, you know that you will forever have a movie partner, someone to bicker with (that’s quite fun), a shoulder to cry on, a person to b***h to, someone you can laugh uncontrollably with and basically a lifetime confidant. She’s basically a built-in best friend! My sister is 3 years younger than I am and as kids, we did everything together. Since becoming grown-ups, not much has change, we still do just about everything together but now there’s also alcohol involved.

Here’s why having a sister as a BFF is the best thing ever:

She makes you want to be better – It may seem weird that having a little sister would make me want to be a better version of myself but truth be told, when your sister is smart, wise and awesome, you want be to be all those things too. Being the eldest child meant you made all the mistakes, while she watched and learned not to do the same thing.

The inside jokes are endless – It happens all the time, where the two of you take one look at each other and know what the other mean. Both of you then proceed to burst into a fit of laughter, leaving everybody around you confused as to what just happened and why. In fact, your friends even get annoyed at times, but the two of you couldn’t care less.

She keeps you young – While you should be setting an example for her, you can’t help but to let loose with your sister. She reminds you to be young at heart and mind, also she dresses way better than you did at her age.

She will always give you a compliment – But she also keeps it real and tells you if something looks totally awful on you.Whenever you’re feeling down about yourself, life or your body, you can always count on your sister to lift your spirits up. She will do it sincerely too, not in a fake manner.

She remains a constant – People change, life changes, and your world sometimes sees people coming and and leaving. But your sister will always be around.

She is your social media advocate – No matter how bad your selfie is on Facebook or Instagram, she is always going to like it, which makes you feel loved every single time without fail.

Her closet is also your closet – One of the best things about having sister is the ability to share clothes. Who needs new clothes when you can just ransack you’re sister’s closet? It’s a major plus if you guys have the same shoe size too!

She will always forgive you – Having a sister is pretty much having a saint in your life. She will forgive you for all the things you did and will do wrong. She will never judge you for farting and she will always be there for you even if you’ve pissed her off.

You will have a best friend for life – The best part about having a sister, you will always have a best friend. Life will never feel lonely and she will be there for you forever.
