Every woman wants great hair; we also want lots of bags and shoes but mostly we want beautiful hair and to have it, we can’t simply expect to slap on some conditioner and end it there. Like you would with your face, your hair needs that extra tender, loving, care, for it to flourish and shine. To have perfect hair, here are some of the things you should do instead of burning a hole through your wallet with expensive treatments:
Keep it cool – When you’re washing your hair, try and avoid washing it with really hot water. The best is of course, cold water but if you really can’t take the chill then set your shower temperature to lukewarm. Washing your hair with cold water will also lock in all the nutrients that it needs from your haircare products.
Go for regular trimming – You may think that skipping regular trimming will allow your hair to grow out longer and faster. This is completely false as you should actually be paying the hair salon a visit every six to eight weeks. This will keep your hair free from split ends and it will also grow in length.
Avoid heat-styling – We’re not saying to completely give up heat-styling as that’s almost impossible in this day and age, but you should try and avoid it as much as you can. Don’t forget to spray your hair with some heat-protectant before styling it!
Keep your hair clean – We’ve all heard about how one can benefit from not washing the hair as it preserves the natural oils. But according to a lot of stylist, if you wash your hair with the right shampoo, you can actually benefit from it and prevent your hair from getting split ends.
Protect it from the sun – There is such thing as sun-damage on the hair. If your face can suffer from the heat, so can your hair. To avoid sun-damage, apply leave in conditioner every other day.
Don’t save on moisturizing – You’re well aware that for the skin on your face needs moisture. This same rule applies to your scalp, so don’t ever skip on conditioning your hair after shampooing it. Moisturizing your scalp is a good start to healthy hair growth and don’t just moisturize in the shower. Even if you’re not heat-styling your hair, apply some leave-in conditioner to avoid frizzy hair, dryness and unwanted split ends!
