Woot woot! 1,000 Touch ‘n Go cards will be given away for FREE at the cash lanes of every toll plaza on the Kuala Lumpur-Kuala Selangor Expressway (Latar Expressway) on Merdeka Day. On normal days, the Touch ‘n Go card costs RM10.60 with a one-month warranty.
The distribution will begin on Monday, August 31 2015, from 12.01am until stock runs out.
This is done to encourage more road users to use the electronic payment system for tolls, either via Touch ‘n Go or SmartTag, which will be implemented on all Malaysian highways beginning next year.
With this implementation, road journeys will be more convenient and this avoids long queues at toll plazas, especially on the cash lanes.
