[VIDEO] Do You Have The ‘Text Neck’?

Do you spend most of your day staring down onto your smartphone? And when you’re not on your phone, do you do that with your tablet and laptop as well? You most likely have the ‘text neck’ and that’s not a good thing.

According to a professional, Dr. Foster, the ‘text neck’ is a group of symptoms we develop specifically from the way we hold our media devices. The common symptoms include neck pain, shoulder pain, headaches, shoulder tension and difficulty when turning your head. Do these symptoms sound familiar?

When you lean forward to look at your device, your head literally becomes two to three times heavier and maybe SIX times its normal weight. Hence, over a long period of time, there will be a significant strain.

In a previous study, it is found that if you bend your head at a 60 degree angle, you’re putting about 60 pounds worth of pressure on the portion of the spine above the shoulders.

Keep your posture in mind at all times! Remember: Shoulders back, chin up and eyes downward. Watch the video below to learn more:
