35-year old mother, Sim Yee Ling, searched desperately for her missing daughter just like any other concerned mother would. But she then heard some tragic news when her daughter, Ng Yuk Tim was found dead stuffed in a green suitcase left behind along Jalan Kebun in Shah Alam. She is believed to have been murdered and the suspect is now under police custody.
According to Selangor Deputy Police Chief Deputy Comm Datuk Abdul Rahim, the 23-year old male suspect confessed to the murder that took place in his house after a series of persistent questioning and then led the police to where the suitcase was then found. He also confessed that he tried to rape the girl before smacking her with a dumbbell, killing her instantly.
According to the statement from Ng Yuk Tim’s 31-year old aunt, Yuk Tim had left her house at about 11:00a.m. to meet her friends for breakfast and then took the train to the Kelana Jaya LRT station to meet a friend to work on some cosplay costumes for an upcoming event.
The suspect, a male friend of the victim whom she met online, initially said that he dropped Ng Yuk Tim off at the same LRT station around 3:30p.m. However, the victim was not at all captured on any CCTVs around the LRT station between 2:30p.m. and 5:00p.m. on Monday.
The victim’s mother spent the entire day showing her daughter’s photo on her phone and asking everyone around her if they had seen her daughter. She even posted a plea on Facebook and lodged a police report.
The suspect also updated his Facebook status at about 1:00a.m. saying, “Everyone please help find her. Her mother is looking for her. She came over to my house to help me make Cosplay helmets. As I had to leave for work, I sent her to the LRT station. If anyone has any info, please contact her mother. Everyone please try to search for her. She is wearing the same clothes seen in this photo.”
Then, around 7:00a.m. he posted another status saying, “It has been an entire morning. Ah Tim (Ng) where have you been? Your mother and father are looking for you. Please don’t scare us.”
