Everyone’s got a beauty secret to share. Whether it’s using the right tools to gaining the perfect complexion, or age old secrets from our grandmothers, there’s always a little trick to getting things right. After searching high and low for our common beauty woes, we’ve discovered these not-so-hidden beauty secrets that are absolutely effective and they’re probably secrets that will never ever go out of style!
Shave with Conditioner
If you run out of shaving cream, slather a layer of conditioner on your body. This will give you an easier shave, and your skin will be left feeling silky soft after!
Vaseline, Vaseline, Vaseline
If there’s one thing every woman should have stashed in her beauty drawer, it’s Vaseline. It’s pretty much the answer to all your beauty woes. Cracked heels? Vaseline. Chapped lips? Vaseline. Rough elbows? Vaseline. Irritated skin? Vaseline?
Trim Your Own Split-Ends
If a haircut is not in your budget, get rid of those split ends with a pair of shaping scissors. Wet the ends of your hair, brush out the tangles and then bring section of it forward. Hold it firmly between two fingers and then trim wherever that needs trimming.
Using a Cleansing Cream Instead
If you hate the oily texture you get from make-up remover oils, then it’s time to switch to a cleansing cream instead. With more moisturizing effect, it’ll leave your skin silky smooth after you remove your makeup. And you probably don’t even have to wash your face after. Perfect for those girls who party hard who are too tired to wash their face after coming home, but don’t forget to use a facial wipe after.
The Three Make-up Rule
If you hate putting on makeup and would like to give yourself a touch of sexy without a full face, all you need is an eyeliner, concealer and lip-cheek tint. Benefit’s Posie Tint offers you natural flushed-glow on your cheeks while a little mascara helps your eyes pop open!
Stash Your Make-up Sponge
Applying foundation perfectly takes practice and some precision if you think about it. But if you want to save time without putting in too much effort, get a foundation brush instead. Sephora’s Mineral Powder brush (45) is truly a magical tool. It helps you blend your foundation onto your skin smoothly with its soft round brush, and you can use it to smooth on some powder and blush after. You can also blend your concealer and your foundation for a natural glow too!
Use Toothpaste on Zits
If you’ve run out of your pimple-treatment gels, some toothpaste is all you need! Simply apply a tiny bit of toothpaste and rub it around the zit, not the skin, or else it’ll burn. Apparently, toothpaste absorbs the impurities out of the pores, while shrinking the pimple. Keep a small tube of toothpaste in your beauty bag specially for pimples so it doesn’t harbor any bacteria from your toothbrush.
