Every now and then, I tend to switch up my skincare products, because I don’t particularly favour my skin getting used to one brand (I read somewhere that you shouldn’t do this) and it’s good to try something new every so often. Am I right or am I right?
I’ve heard many good things about Kiehl’s and those who choose this brand swears by it, which is why I thought to give it a shot. I tried out three of their highly-acclaimed products: The Creme de Corps Body Lotion, Ultra Facial Cream and the Vetiver & Black Tea Skin Softening Body Cleanser.
All in all, I loved every single one of them and would definitely re-purchase. Read on to find out whether any of these from Kiehl’s will work for you:
Vetiver & Black Tea Skin Softening Body Cleanser
The 411: This is one of the latest to be added to Kiehl’s impressive scent collection. Fans of the brand will be delighted with the body cleanser’s invigorating woody fragrance of Vetiver mixed with a refreshing touch of citrus-like aroma of the Black Tea.
My Verdict: I’ve never quite liked body cleansers that smells too much of everything. You know, the incredibly overpowering ones that you know smell’s totally fake and didn’t come from any natural source at all. This one from Kiehl’s is far from that. Its subtle scent actually leaves you craving for more and if you know me at all, you’ll know that I’m a total fragrance nerd. In terms of formula, from what I have researched, I think this one is very much similar to their previous body cleanser. This body wash is suitable for all skin types but especially those with dry skin. I wouldn’t say I have dry skin but it does need its dose of moisture once or twice a day, and I found this body cleanser helped with that. The best part of all is that it cleans very gently!
Ultra Facial Cream
The 411: Formulated with a glacial protein called Antarcticine and Squalane, which comes from olive fruit, the ingredients in Ultra Facial Cream provides the ultimate quality hydration to any dull and dry skin. The formula is also equipped with Imperata Cylindrica, a desert plant that helps to minimize skin’s moisture loss by drawing moisture from the air.
My verdict: There is nothing quite like the Ultra Facial Cream and I know a thing or two about moisturizers because I have tried so many! This cream is everything that everyone says it is, plus more. It provided insane amount of moisture on my skin without making it feel greasy and it’s completely fragrance-free. There is a scent but I think that’s all natural! A little steep in terms of price but I feel that it’s really worth it, especially for those with dry and sensitive skin. I gave into the hype and you should too because it’s all that its cracked up to be. In short: This moisturizer is the best one your skin will ever experience!
Creme de Corps
The 411: This All Over Body Moisturizer is packed with nourishing properties, which includes the Beta-Carotene (a naturally derived anti-oxidant that’s found in red vegetables like carrots) that helps treat the skin with its creamy buttery texture. It’s also got Squalane, Aloe Vera, Vitamin A and E, and vegetable oils, all to help with soothing and moisturizing the skin.
My verdict: It’s unlike any other body lotion I have ever applied on my skin. I’m pretty used to body moisturizers that has a lightweight consistency, so when I tried this on for size, it took some getting used to because it’s very, very thick BUT for a good reason. I usually apply body lotion on twice a day, once in the morning and once at night before I go to bed, and both times are usually after I have had a shower. Because I sleep in an air-conditioned room, my skin (especially on my legs) tend to get a little bit dry. But the Creme de Corps really does its job. Note that it does stain if you don’t wait for it to really absorb into the skin, so before putting on your clothes, just give it a while. All in all, love this body lotion and I think you will too!
