It’s another “Good-Golly-Miss-Miley” moment again! Just when you thought Miley Cyrus couldn’t shock us anymore, she proves us all wrong and shows us what she’s made of.
The Wrecking Ball singer, who recently told people to “Free the Nipple“, released tw0 teasers for her upcoming Adore You video on Instagram one day ago.
Much like Miley’s other recent videos such as We Can’t Stop, Wrecking Ball and 23, the video is bound to be a scandalous one that may just be the icing on the cake of 2013 when the video drops on the 26th of December.
The video appears to have scenes with female masturbation, which is of course, a taboo even in the Western society. Miley’s definitely not going to back down on what she feels is a human right, even if it appears to be too raunchy for everyone to see. Miley’s simply challenging the way we all see taboos, and as a popular figure, she’s conveying her message through her music videos.
As Refinery29 puts it:
Whether or not Cyrus’ particular approach is productive or enjoyable or artistic is one thing, and those criticisms are probably best leveraged once we’ve seen the whole video. But, rather than freaking out about seeing a glimpse of a hand grazing underwear, let us all take a deep breath. Even when Miley brings the controversy, it’s a subject worth talking about — and desensitizing ourselves toward.
