You’re anxious. You’ve not gotten your period in weeks and you’re starting to feel a little different. Your body feels different – your feet are beginning to swell, you can smell everything from good to bad, and you feel more sickly than ever. You take a pregnancy test, and you find two lines on the stick. Congratulations, you’re pregnant!

Some of you might be ready to care for a new life inside you, some of you may not. Despite what some may have told you about early pregnancy, it’s really where the fun begins. The thing is, many women are not sure what the next step should be once their pregnancy is confirmed. If you don’t know what you should do next, simply look over these tips below.

Start Thinking
A million thoughts are probably running through your mind right now. From what you should do 10 minutes later, up to how you’re going to care for the baby. Give one of these options a try:

OPTION 1: Take a deep breath and take a moment to think – How does it make you feel? Was this bundle a surprise to you? Do you feel happy? Take a step back from time to time and evaluate of the questions mentioned above, otherwise it will be very easy to turn yourself into a huge emotional ball of confusion. Once you’ve make your decision, tell your partner right away.
OPTION 2: What if you’re not? You still need to take a deep breath, and be honest to your partner as well. At least you won’t be the only one who bears the pressure. Once both you and your partner have made the decision to raise the kid, we’re pretty sure that good things will come to you. Source

Spill the Beans and Get Educated
Decide whether you both would like to let someone else in on your little secret. Once you have decided, make a doctor’s appointment immediately. Do look for extra insurance to cover your maternity-related expenses. Most women don’t schedule their first appointment until they’ve missed two periods. Even if you don’t call for appointment, please don’t hesitate to ask experts about concerns like medication, troubling symptoms , chronic health conditions, etc. Don’t feel shy to let your partner know about how you feel because you’re a team.

Celebrate the Good News
Once you’ve settled  your medical check-ups and financial statuses, go celebrate with your companion. Although you can’t take alcohol, but you shouldn’t stop having fun. Plan a great dinner to surprise your parents. Then, share the good news to your family and friends, or maybe you can keep on low profile until you show them your first ultrasound image of your foetus. There’s no right or wrong when it comes to choose an appropriate time to share the good news. It is after all, your baby.

Take Care of Yourself
Now it’s time to cut yourself some slack. Having lots of rest, eating well and take some pre-natal supplements. Do research for some information about pregnancy if you’re a first-timer; get first hand tips from your mother and friends. You can even sign-up for early pregnancy class. Most importantly, you should try to keep yourself cheerful and happy all the time. You’ve only got 9 months to cherish this beautiful moment!
