The Estée Lauder Companies is celebrating the 20th anniversary of its global Breast Cancer Awareness Campaign this year which carries the theme ‘Courage. Believe in a world without breast cancer. Know we’re here until it’s true.’ This year’s BCA Campaign is dedicated to Evelyn Lauder, who was the BCA Campaign Founder and Pink Ribbon co-creator. In 1992, Evelyn launched the Breast Cancer Awareness Campaign and today it has raised more than USD$35 million to fund 140 Breast Cancer Research Foundation grants for medical research.
The Estée Lauder Companies Malaysia kickstarted the BCA Campaign in our country in 1996, reaching numerous achievements such as distributing more than a million Breast Self Examination instructional cards and pink ribbons, and donating more than RM2.75 million to this cause to beneficiaries. This year, they will be having a series of fundraising activities which you can participate in, such as:
- Pink Ribbon charity walk and landmark illumination (29 Sept 2012, 4pm – 8pm, National Science Museum)
- Pink Ribbon charity golf (17 Oct 2012, KLGCC)
- Pink Ribbon charity ball (31 Oct 2012, Shangri-La Hotel KL)
- Mammogram sponsorship programme (donations can be made at any Estée Lauder Companies Malaysia’s brands in Parkson stores until 31 Oct 2012)
- Exclusive pink merchandise
Exclusive Estée Lauder Companies pink merchandise will be sold during the BCA campaign, and 100% of the proceeds will go towards charity. Get the Estée Lauder Evelyn Lauder and Elizabeth Hurley Dream Lip Collection at Estée Lauder counters in Parkson nationwide, and the Bobbi Brown Pink Peony Set at all Bobbi Brown freestanding stores nationwide.
Jewellery brand Selberan is also participating this year, with a specially designed Pink Ribbon pendant in lush pink enamel (RM380) and a luxurious Selberan ribbon in either 18K white gold (RM1,650) or 18K yellow gold (RM1,550). They are available at Selberan boutiques from August to October 2012, and Selberan will be donatin 10% of sale proceeds to the Breast Cancer Welfare Association.
For the fashionistas, head to BCBG Max Azria in the month of October as the brand will be donating part of their sales to the Estée Lauder Companies Breast Cancer Awareness fund. You’ll also received a pair of BCBG sunnies with every nett purchase of RM1,000 and above.
This year’s beneficiaries of the Breast Cancer Awareness Campaign are: The Breast Cancer Welfare Association, The Cancer Research Initiatives Foundation, The College of Radiology Malaysia and The National Cancer Society Malaysia.
