As one of Victoria’s Secret angels, we’re used to seeing Lily Aldridge – mother, wife, model, bikini beauty – flaunting bra and panties. But the 28-year-old brunette bombshell is now also rocking hot bikinis on the beach.
Aldridge has made the crossover to the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue, and was named Rookie No. 8 in the magazine. Meanwhile, SwimDaily will be releasing the identities of the record-high 12 rookies selected to carry the Swimsuit franchise into its next 50 years.
The VS model will make her debut in the magazine’s 50th Anniversary issue, which drops next week.
“I’m so excited to be a part of this iconic issue! My photos were shot in the Cook Islands by James Macari and it was paradise,” Aldridge said of her swimsuit shoot.
The photo shows the brunette babe modelling a neon bikini, while sitting in the clear waters and giving the camera a killer smize and pout. She took to Twitter to share the snapshot with her Twitter followers and wrote, “So excited to be apart of the 2014 Sports Illustrated swimsuit issue!!!!”
The article naming her as Rookie No. 8 also shares a throwback photo of little Lily with supermodel Naomi Campbell.
“It was my brother [fashion photographer Miles’] wedding and I was one of the flower girls. Naomi and my sister Saffron [not pictured] were two of the bridesmaids,” she told the mag.
“My little sister Ruby is on the far left and the other little girl is Lily McMenamy who is a big model now. But Naomi is iconic and I always looked up to her, she’s amazing. You can’t be around Naomi Campbell and not feel her incredible presence. I mean, she’s a supermodel.”
Among the other already-named Rookies are Samantha Hoopes, Lauren Mellor, Marloes Horst, Hannah Ferguson and Emily Ratajkowski.
