As we have reported previously, ’90s pop sensation Spice Girls has been planning to return to the music scene for some time now, but couldn’t since Victoria Beckham refused to do so. However, great news for their OG fans: We got word that Posh Spice has finally agreed to be a part of it!
This came after all five members –Victoria Beckham, Geri Horner, Emma Bunton, Melanie Brown and Melanie Chisholm — were pictured together at Geri’s house in Hertfordshire, marking the first time the five have been together in the same room since 2012.
Mel C revealed in an interview, that the five stars had wanted “a little catch up” to “see where everyone’s at”. “We have enjoyed a wonderful afternoon catching up and reminiscing about the amazing times we have spent together. We are always overwhelmed at how much interest there is across the whole world for The Spice Girls.”
“The time now feels right to explore some incredible new opportunities together,” they said in a statement. “We all agree that there are many exciting possibilities that will once again embrace the original essence of The Spice Girls, while reinforcing our message of female empowerment for future generations.”
Geri Horner (formerly Geri Halliwell) and Pop Idol mastermind Simon Fuller are behind the venture — with Posh believed to have sought assurances she will not have to sing. A source revealed, “Now that she’s a top designer, Victoria is concerned about singing but she wants to make money to pump back into her business.”
FYI: Victoria Beckham’s mic was mostly off and she was always lip-synching during her Spice Girls days anyway.

Albeit not returning for a tour or a new album, the five members of the British girlband have accepted £10m each in a deal that might include television in China, a new talent show, a second greatest hits compilation and a variety of endorsement deals.
Sure, it might be a huge money-making scheme but as Mel C puts it: “we need the girl power message more now than ever.” As Spice Girls fans lose their collective minds, here’s to hoping that it will be a fierce comeback!
