Miss Philippines (Pia Alonzo Wurtzbach) beat 79 other beautiful contestants from around the globe and was crowned as Miss Universe 2015 at the Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino in Las Vegas.
Prior to this announcement however, Miss Universe 2015 host Steve Harvey actually named the winner as Miss Columbia (Ariadna Gutierrez), and by the time he wanted to correct this blunder, Miss Columbia was already taking her first walk as a winner, donning the Miss Universe crown and sash. OMG, FAILLLL!
Clearly, this caused a stunned reaction onstage, and Miss Philippines was even more shocked herself. Needless to say, the look on Miss Columbia’s face was priceless as she was already basking in the glory of winning before being told she came second place.
Harvey said, “I have to apologise, the first runner-up is Columbia.” He also mentioned that he’d take responsibility for the mistake. He proceeded to hold up the card to show the audience what exactly is written on it.
