Yuna has got to be one of the most successful Malaysians out there and there’s no doubt about it – we absolutely love and respect her. Not only does the 30-year-old singer-songwriter have a global reach whilst staying true to her roots, she got to collaborate with Grammy award-winning singer Usher, and even graced the cover of Vogue Arabia recently.
She’s never stopped going places, but unfortunately doesn’t get many opportunities to perform right here in Malaysia where she is born and raised.. which is why we were beyond stoked when ride-hailing platform Uber unexpectedly announced a secret concert featuring the one and only Yuna for its UberYuna on-demand affair on July 29 in Kuala Lumpur.
Uber riders, driver-partners and guests were treated to an intimate one-night only performance by Yuna, aside from up and coming local acts including The Peachskins and Orang Malaya. The event was publicly disclosed one day ahead, and only extremely lucky fans were able to get access to the classified venue via a ride request on the Uber app.
In partnership with Pandora and Bonus Link, the UberYuna on-demand affair took place at APW, Bangsar. The Malaysian songbird delighted fans by opening with “Falling”, before her sultry vocals thrilled fans with some of her popular tracks such as “Lullabies”, “Pulang”, “Lights and Camera”, “Terukir”, “Decorate” and of course, “Crush”.
