When you spend the afternoon with 26 leading Victorian tourism operators at a networking event, it’s just the tip of the iceberg of what Melbourne and the region of Victoria has to offer.

As part of its second Victorian Government Super Trade Mission to South East Asia, Tourism Victoria recently brought delegates to the Grand Hyatt Hotel, Kuala Lumpur to showcase the latest travel and lifestyle trends in Melbourne and Victoria.

This time around, the mission highlights the diverse arts and culture scene from performance, theatre, galleries to food and local produce that will without a doubt ignite your sense of wanderlust.

At the special networking event, personalities that best showcase Melbourne’s character were present. Gallery owner and curator of Utopian Slumps, Melissa Loughman represented the city’s thriving artistic community while street artist and founder of Melbourne Street Art Tours, Adrian Doyle was working on a bespoke Melbourne inspired canvas during the event.

Representing the food scene was Remco Brigou, a specialist chocolatier from Yarra Valley Chocolaterie and Ice Creamery who created a delectable chocolate sculpture specially for the event, inspired by Victoria’s specialist gourmet dining regions.

Ms. Asher sums it up perfectly when she says, “Whether you’re into food and wine events, opera, contemporary dance, live music, stand-up comedy or performance art, Melbourne’s cultural calendar is packed with events for visitors at any time of year.”
