Godfather of EDM, Dutch DJ Tiësto — aka Tijs Michiel Verwest — is finally ending his bachelor days with fellow Dutch native, haute couture model Annika Backes, his girlfriend of two years.
Proving that age is just a number, 48-year-old Tiesto proposed to the 21-year old beauty at the One&Only Reethi Rah Resort in Maldives amid his vigorous, intercontinental tour schedule.

As a DJ with a heavy touring schedule, it’s hard to fit in a love life. Until early 2006, Tiësto was dating Dutch model Monique Spronk. Two years later, a Dutch newspaper announced that Tiësto and his girlfriend Stacey Blokzijl were going to get married on October 10, 2008 in Cartagena, Colombia.
He proposed to her in December 2007 while they were visiting Mauritius. Unfortunately, Tiësto cancelled his wedding 10 months later because he claimed to have a busy schedule and too little time for the preparations, which led to Stacey Blokzijl breaking off the engagement.
Almost 11 years later, finally, the Dutch native has found love once again. Congratulations to the DJ for scoring such a beaut!
