Of all the strange medical conditions in the world, one 22-year-old woman has gotten medical staff and researchers in frenzy after being discovered with a third nipple. The more startling fact of the matter is that the said discovery is on her foot.
In the world, there are only up to five percent of the human population (phew, luckily) who suffer from the condition and most extra nipples (if present at all) tend to be located above the waist. However, researchers believe that the unusual positioning of the four centimetres in diameter nipple may mean it is completely unique.
As the picture above would suggest, the well-formed nipple is surrounded by areola and hair, and microscopic examination of the dermis showed hair follicles, ecrine glances, and sebaceous glands. The finding is the first in the world and the 22-year-old woman said that it has been there since birth and that it caused her no pain.
