It shouldn’t came as a surprise when Pinterest became an addiction for everyone since the existence of Tumblr. Similar to Tumblr, Pinterest makes users go for endless scrolling and ‘repin’ so that they can gather all your favourite items in the pinboard. But as most users of Pinterest are women users, men seem to find their way lost in the ‘girly’ content.
Hence, a Pinterest for men, ‘Man’teresting is created.
According to our source, Manteresting is social media website specially cater to the men and it features photos of beards, guns, Harleys and bottles of whiskey. It was launched over a year ago when Pinterest is filled with ‘girly’ contents which men aren’t fully comfortable with. Similar to pinterest, Manteresting provides a specific Internet community space for men to express themselves and ‘bump’ what they like or ‘nail’ their posts.
CNN reported that the site could promotes manliness but at the same time reinforces the gender stereotype based on what most men liked. Although there is no restriction on whoever’s joining the site, but Pinterest is still the preferable website for women due to its layout design and useful contents.
Truth to told, we do prefer Pinterest over Manteresting. But, perhaps Manteresting could be a great way to search for gift idea with what most men ‘bumped’ and ‘nailed’ in the site?
