89 Miss Universe 2012 contestants showed off their beautiful outfits during the Miss Universe National Costume Show recently at Las Vegas, Nevada. These beautiful women will be competing for the coveted Miss Universe Diamond Nexus Labs Crown on December 19.
The show was nothing short of bedazzling, as the gorgeous contestant proudly exhibited their beautiful costumes down the runway. The National Costume show is possibly one of the most important parts of the pageant, where each girl showcases not only her confidence and charm, but will also represent her country and its culture.
Our local darling, Miss Universe Malaysia 2012, Kimberly Leggett showcased the Kebaya Mandagie, a kebaya designed by local couture designer, Jovian Mandagie. The Kebaya Mandagie is an elaborate black and white piece featuring an intricate mix of French and German lace, French tulle, and ostrich and bird feathers for the kebaya top, and vintage hand-drawn Malaysian batik from Terengganu for the skirt.
Some of the costumes were just downright fierce – just take a look at Miss Universe Panama 2012 tribal-inspired costume. Miss Great Britain 2012, wore a superhero costume with the Union Jack which was certainly unconventional, but we find it to be totally cute.

Catch the Miss Universe pageant live from Planet Hollywood on 19 December at 8pm ET. Miss Universe 2011, Leila Lopes of Angola, will crown the successor at the end of the two-hour television special. The big show will be hosted by Andy Cohen and Giuliana Rancic from E! News.
