The Hunger Games: Catching Fire has officially stormed into local cinemas, giving fans of Suzanne Collins’ novel series a chance to see their favorite books brought to life.
Catching Fire is the follow-up to The Hunger Games and it is the second in four movie adaptation of the successful book trilogy (the final book, Mockingjay will be split into two films). The sequel revolves around Katniss and Peeta, who after winning the 74th Hunger Games, become targets of the capital when a rebellion sparks in the Districts of Panem.
Shortly after its release around the world, Catching Fire was given a positive reviews by Rotten Tomatoes for its smart, smooth direction, and “a deeper exploration of the franchise’s thought-provoking themes”. The Rolling Stone gave it 3.5 stars out of four while praising Lawrence’s performance: “Pop-culture escapism can be thrilling when dished out by experts. Katniss is a character worth a handful of sequels. And Lawrence lights up the screen. You’ll follow her anywhere.”.
