Discussing pubic hair-related topics isn’t exactly a common thing in our culture. While we openly share stories on our failed dates, our workloads, and our controlling mothers, sharing the ins and outs of our pubic hair maintenance regimen is, for some reason… [screams awkwardly].

But it’s time to give our labia majoras their due and start talking about pubic hair maintenance. Shaving is the method of choice for 66% of individuals when it comes to intimate grooming – therefore, we’re going to show you how to obtain a smooth baby shave.

1. Do Prep The Area

Hair longer than six millimeters should be thoroughly cut with a clean pair of scissors before beginning. It will not only make the procedure faster and easier, it will also avoid nicks and cuts and keep your razor blades from working overtime.

2. Do Use Shaving Gel

Swap soap for shaving gel to let your razor glide more smoothly. It’s intended to make your razor glide more smoothly, and it frequently contains skin-protecting chemicals that might help prevent discomfort while shaving our sensitive regions.

3. Do Shave Til’ Last

Save your labia majora care until the very end of your shower or bath to allow your thicker pubic hair and its follicles to soften before shaving. This will considerably lessen the possibility of inflammation. And never, ever shave dry, as this is a sure recipe for razor burn and cuts.

4. Do Moisturise

After smoothing, it’s time to soothe, so use a moisturizer to lessen the likelihood of irritation and dry skin, which can cause itching. As this is a sensitive region, it is advisable to use a fragrance-free lotion or serum. Some even include gentle exfoliating substances, such as lactic acid, to help prevent ingrown hairs and keep your pubic region smoother for longer.

5. Don’t Use Old Razors

It’s time to retire that dull and dusty razor from your shower and replace it with a blade made exclusively for use on pubic flesh. To avoid cuts and ingrown hairs, pull skin taut and shave in the direction that your hair grows. Allow the razor to do the work for you and use little pressure, making sure to rinse the blade between strokes.

6. Don’t Over-Exfoliate

Sloughing away dead and dull skin cells is a vital part in keeping our skin appearing fresh and healthy, just like it is for our faces and the rest of our bodies. However, avoid over-exfoliating the region. Excessive or harsh shaving might result in ingrown hairs and razor burn.
