Whenever Sarah Jessica Parker releases a new shoe collection, Sex and the City fans can’t help but get Carrie Bradshaw flashbacks. We wonder if the fictional fashionista even owned a pair of kicks, though, since it’s widely known that Carrie would rather step out barefoot than wearing sneakers.
Despite being around for a few seasons now, the actress announced an exciting new launch for her brand: Sneakers (Or, at least, that’s what she’s calling them). First thing’s first: It’s not really a shoe in the traditional sense, so don’t plan on slipping these on when you’re heading out on your weekend jog.
SJP’s sneaker is more like a classic Carrie-approved strappy sandal slapped onto an athletic-inspired sole for a fashion mash-up that any shoe-loving fashion enthusiasts will approve of.
“Just in time for summer. She’s here! She’s Meteor! And, as her name suggests, she’s seriously out of this world. A comfortable, smart, day-to-night silhouette that’s SO sparkly she’ll blow your mind,” SJP wrote on Instagram, where she debuted the shoe.
“Walk, run, jump, twirl and promenade — the possibilities are endless,” SJPCollection, the official Instagram for the brand, wrote to accompany a short video of Parker wearing the shoes and showing that they can, indeed, do all of those things.
We don’t know about you, but these sparkle bombs don’t exactly look like sneakers to us. Are they super chic flats that we’d love to splurge on immediately, anyway? YES!
