Deadpool has Ryan Reynolds displaying his combat skills and his adept delivery of witty comments, just a smidgen more. Mr. Sexiest Man Alive 2010 is seen duelling in the nude, and he talks about how the whole thing went down.
“We had a little talk with the crew at the beginning of the day and just said, ‘You’re going to see parts of the dance floor here that you weren’t ready for. I’m sorry in advance, but we’re all in this together.’’ Reynolds told People and EW editorial director Jess Cagle in an interview on EW Radio.
In this new Marvel super-anti-hero movie, Reynolds is mostly covered in make-up and mask, as his character is disfigured from a medical experiment gone wrong. Before shootings, Reynolds spends 8 hours hours on prosthetic make-up “in places that no man needs to be there with a paintbrush”. According to DailyMail, his Deadpool make-up captured the disfiguration so well that it even scared his baby daughter James!
“We had Bill Corso, who’s this incredible Oscar-winning makeup artist …. He’s a genius, and he made my penis look perfect.” Reynolds added, in reference to his nude fight scene.
However, it seems Ryan already had some practice beforehand.
“I’m the youngest of four boys, so it’s not the first time I’ve fought another man naked in a burning building,” Reynolds cheekily said at BuzzFeed Brews.
Deadpool is already showing in theatres nationwide.
