A gorgeous evening gown was unveiled earlier this week which will be worn by Carey Ng, the reigning Miss Universe Malaysia 2013, at the global pageant in November this year.
Designed by local designer extraordinaire Alia Bastamam whose name is already known among the social circles of Kuala Lumpur, the luxurious evening gown was a collaboration between Alia and Rafflesia Pearl. Carey’s complete outfit that also includes a bejeweled tiara and a pearl necklace is estimated to be worth around RM1.1 million Ringgit. “We’ve had to work on a look that highlights Carey’s attributes. We’ve even had her hair set by Hairkunst Salon so we bring out the look we want from her. Every detail plays a part; if not our efforts are in vain,” said Alia Bastamam.
Present at the unveiling of Miss Universe Malaysia 2013 evening gown was also Russian Ambassador, Lyudmila G. Vorobyeva, whose home country will be the host of this year’s 62nd international Miss Universe competition. “We wish to showcase what we have, and what we can do to the world. Blending sophistication and style is a careful balance and we believe we have pulled no stops in bringing out the best in us,” said Winnie Sin, Director of Rafflesia The Pearl Centre.
Carey Ng is scheduled to depart for Moscow sometime next month, and we wish her all the best!
