We were at Tokyo Street @ Pavillion last week so we took the chance to try out Arthur’s Hokkaido Mille Crepe Cake. We’re always on the lookout for delicious confectioneries to satiate our sweet tooth and in recent years there’s the Mille Crepe cake hype. The Mille Crepe cake originates from France and the term mille means many layers hence the name. The unique texture of the cake

The Mille Crepe cake is tedious and hard work hence the heftier than usual price tag for a slice of cake. Anyone’s who has ever made on will attest to it being the most epic cake they’ve ever made. Each cake can go up to 30 layers of browned butter crepes slathered with alternate blankets of flavoured pastry cream lightened with whipped cream.

Among the flavours that are available are Original Classic, Rum N’ Raisin, Mango Delight, Strawberry Oiishi, Chocolate Supreme, Mocha, , Hazelnut and Chocolate Banana. It costs RM9.80 for the Original Classic flavour and RM10.50 for the other flavours.

So how did the cake fare? We picked out the Original Classic flavour and having tried a few other crepe cakes ourselves, we found Arthur’s to be a tad less sweeter, denser but delightfully addictive nonetheless.

A good crepe cake sticks together and doesn’t fall apart. Be sure to have it chilled for the best taste or eat it as soon as you purchase. In fact, we were pretty sad when we came to the last bite but we’re looking forward to go back and try all the other flavours. Mille Crepe cakes are not as sweet or filling as your typical cakes so you can definitely have more than a slice without feeling guilty afterwards! There is no dine in for Arthur’s Hokkaido Mille Crepe Cakes, only takeaway.

Arthur’s also caters for those who wish to order birthday or whole cakes at RM120 for the original flavour and RM136 for a flavoured one.

Arthur’s Hokkaido Mille Crepe Cake is located at the entrance of Tokyo Street on the 6th floor so you can’t miss it.
