Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak has spoken out about the death of Irene Ong Ai Sam. He assured that the government would do its best to bring to the murderers to justice.
“Like many others, I am shocked by the senseless murder of Irene Ong Ai Sam. We will do everything we can to bring her killers to justice,” he said in his latest tweet.
Selangor police chief Deputy Commissioner Datuk Tun Hisan Tun Hamzah confirmed that four suspects were detained in connection with the attempted murder of Ong.
The suspects were aged between 16-18, were detained by police at Flat Sri Median and Flat Bukit Gasing Indian between 1am and 3am on Tuesday.
Meanwhile, netizens are swarming over media channels to send Irene Ong’s family their condolences. Irene Ong’s daughter, Chin Hui Wei shared her fond memories of her mother through her blogpost, “My Mother, My Daughter”.
