Now, how many of you shop online frequently knowing that you’re making secure payments? And how many of you shop securely without revealing your credit card or bank account information? Thought so.
If you’ve ever questioned or doubted the ways to pay for the merchandise that you love, then we need to fill you in on PayPal.
We know, we know. The US-based company feels like a complete stranger to our market but did you know that PayPal has recently set up their operation centre here in Malaysia? November 2011, to be exact. Hence, with a PayPal operation centre here, any calls will be directed straight to their centre here instead of the regional call centre.
Easy breezy!
That’s not all.
Today, your transactions/payments can be done in local currency and that you can now link your Malaysian bank account(s) to your PayPal account. When you link your Malaysian bank account(s) to your PayPal account, you can transfer “credit” into your PayPal account and hence, give yourself an additional way to pay for online purchases more securely without having to use a credit card.
Linking your Malaysian bank accounts to your PayPal account also means that you can top up the “credit” in your PayPal account instantly online.
But first, of course, you need a PayPal account.
How? Here’s what you do:
- Visit PayPal via your browser and click on the “Sign Up” link. You will see this:
- Choose your country/region. In this case, you want to choose “Malaysia”.
- Then, under “Personal”, click “Get Started”. You will see this:
- Fill in all the information needed.
- Click “Agree and Create Account”. You will then be sent to this page:
- Now, link your local bank account or credit card. Or both.
And you’re done!
The best part of the entire process is that signing up for a PayPal account is completely free. So we don’t see why you shouldn’t get started on signing up right away!
