Swatch and Omega have collaborated to create a unique Swatch version of the Speedmaster Moonwatch. This surprising, provocative and forward-thinking cooperation, a first for Swatch and Omega, is the conclusion of a trend of luxury and street brands collaborating to produce inventive new products that combine the best of both worlds.
The brands used space as inspiration for a range of eleven Swatch models named after planetary bodies, ranging from the giant star at the solar system’s center, to the dwarf planet at its outskirts. Swatch’s trademarked BIOCERAMIC, a unique blend of two-thirds ceramic and one-third material produced from castor oil, is used in every design.
Although hues like pink and pastel blue give away that these aren’t your typical Omega Speedmaster watches, even a die-hard Moonwatch lover would struggle to spot the differences in the overall design.
All of the essential Moonwatch design elements are present. The asymmetrical casing, the well-known tachymeter scale with a dot over ninety, and the characteristic Speedmaster subdials, all of which function flawlessly. Omega’s Moonwatch is famous and a collector’s item. Swatch’s amusing BIOCERAMIC MoonSwatch collection brings the distinctive design to lovers all over the world.
