“Oh boy!” Sounds familiar ain’t it? Disney is going to bring back the old school Mickey Mouse on screen!
According to CBC News, there are going to be 19 episodes for the 2D cartoon as Disney attempts to revive one of the most popular characters. The cartoon series will debut June 28th on the Disney Channel as well as online at Disney.com and the Watch Disney Channel app.
Minnie Mouse, Donald Duck, Daisy Duck, Goofy and Pluto will make guest appearances in the 3-minute, 30-second cartoon. Interestingly enough, the characters will speak French and no subtitles will be provided. Walt Disney Co.’s CEO Bob Iger told CNBC that the shorts harken back to the days of founder Walt Disney.
“Over time we thought that maybe Mickey lost some of those impish or innocent qualities, that vitality that people once saw in him. So we decided to bring him back,” Iger said.
