TV Host and gorgeous actress, Neelofa is the new Queen of (Malaysian) Instagram. The 28-year-old star has become the most followed celebrity on Instagram as of yesterday, stripping the title away from Nora Danish, who has maintained her first class influencer status for three long years.
Neelofa is approximately 100,000 followers ahead compared to Nora Danish, who currently has 4.8 million followers. The Kelantanese actress took to Twitter to shared the happy news, thanking her league of devoted fans. “4.9m guys! Neelofa’s popularity rose dramatically after she won the 2011 Dewi Remaja competition and has been constantly booming since the establishment of her hijab brand, Naelofar Hijab.
In addition, the #Lofatah phenomenon after the end of hit TV drama series Suri Hati Mr Pilot has also became one of the factors that contributed to the increasing number of followers.
Previously, in August 2014, Nora Danish became the first artist to hold a Malaysian celebrity record with the most followers on Instagram, with a total of 1 million followers at the time.
