In Malaysia, it’s summer all year long, and with our current financial situation that looks bleak, chances are a lot of us haven’t yet been able to experience real, powdery white snow, and to be able to actually ski and snowboard. Well, now you don’t have to go very far because there’s a ski and skateboard rink right here in the Klang Valley, though sans real snow.
Located in Petaling Jaya, First Traxx is a ski and snowboarding training centre, comprising a 10-metre long Infinity Slope that is close to how a real ski slope would feel like, and the ‘snow’ is actually soft astroturf that feels really gentle, so it won’t hurt as much if you do fall over.
If you’ve got a ski holiday planned out, First Traxx is also a great place to get started on lessons, and all the gear, along with safety equipment, will even be provided for you. The minimum age is 5, and according to its website, the prices for sessions start at RM159 each, so it’s pretty damn affordable for an actual ski or snowboarding lesson!
