On the 4th of June, Nikon Malaysia hosted its annual retreat and this time around, the escapade was held at the fun-filled Sunway Lagoon theme park. It was indeed an exciting day out away from everyday routine, and we also got to experience some of Nikon’s latest products hands-on.
Before heading out for some fun under the sun, we learnt about Nikon’s D5500, Nikon 1 J5 and Coolpix P900. The Nikon D5500 is the world’s smallest, lightest and slimmest DSLR, equipped with built-in Wi-Fi. On the other hand, the 20.8-megapixel Nikon 1 J5 features a tilting LCD monitor and NFC support. It also boasts the world’s fastest continuous shooting with autofocus (AF) at up to 20 frames per second, and the world’s shortest shooting time lag.
We were also briefed on the latest from Coolpix, Nikon’s compact camera line. The Coolpix P900 is engineered for superior telephoto performance with its 83x optical zoom. With 16.1 megapixels, the P900 features Dual Detect Optical VR technology, allowing the ability to shoot a wide array of subjects including distant wild animals without compromising image quality.
Finally, the Coolpix S33 is shockproof, waterproof and dustproof, making it perfect for capturing outdoor fun for families. We also got to take the 13.2-megapixel camera for a spin at Sunway Lagoon. Besides testing its 3x optical zoom and 6x Dynamic Fine Zoom, we were given the opportunity to test the Coolpix S33 in a mini competition, with shopping vouchers as prizes.
