Mark Wahlberg leads the cast of “Contraband”, a thriller about a man trying to stay out of a world he worked so hard to leave behind and the family he’ll do anything to protect.
In this movie, Wahlberg takes on the role of Chris Farraday to yank his brother-in-law, Andy (Caleb Landry Jones, the freckled-face redhead boy who starred as “Banshee” in “X-Men: First Class”) out of debt after botching a cutthroat drug deal for a ruthless boss.
Chris has since long ago abandoned his life of crime as a legendary smuggler but is forced back into doing what he does best – running contraband. And like all crimes, it always seems like a good idea at any given time to “command and conquer” with the help of what appears to be a remarkable crew.
Until the plan foils. Coupled with rusty skills as a result from years of “staying clean”.
As things fall apart, Chris suddenly lands in a position where he needs to return with millions in counterfeit bills, escape being in a crosshair of a treacherous criminal network of brutal drugs lords, and successfully run from the cops and hit men.
Might we add that all at the same time, he has to save his brother-in-law Andy, his extremely beautiful wife Kate (played by Kate Beckinsale), and their sons too:
