For their spring 2015 collection, Swedish brand Monki teamed up with two inspiring female artists, singer Mapei who is best known for her single “Don’t Wait” and world record holding hoola hooper, Marawa the Amazing.
It was not all that surprising that Monki gathered these two young women who are successful artists in their own rights and long-term friends, because at Monki it has been their long-standing mission to empower women and focus on the importance of friendship. So, when it was time to choose the new faces for their spring denim collection, it only seemed right that Monki chose these two ladies.
“Monki is great at promoting young women,” says Maper. “It’s a quality that really resonates with me, so when this collaboration came up it felt really special.”
The new collection for Spring 2015 takes Monki denim to a whole new level in fashion wtih their long white denim coats, flight suits, and funky denim accessories. The collection also includes an extended range of their staple items like jeans styles Ikmo, the cropped boyfriend fit, and Kimono, the mom jean, in spring colours.
“As a denim designer, I see the fabric’s versatility,” says Martin Gustavsson, Collection Manager and Concept Designer of Monki Demin. “This season we wanted to show our customers just how adaptable and fashion worthy denim really is.”
