We’ve been waiting for this trailer for 7 whole months!!!!!
After riling us all up for Amanda Seyfriend & Meryl Streep singing and dancing to some catchy ABBA tunes, Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again has dropped its first trailer – and it’s giving us SO MANY GOOSEBUMPS.
The sequel’s trailer opens with Sophie (Amanda Seyfried) telling her mother’s best friends Rosie and Tanya that she’s pregnant but “I don’t know how to do this myself.” Meryl Streep doesn’t make an appearance in this trailer except in flashbacks of the first movie (feeding into horrible online speculation that our beloved character has died *sobs* why are y’all like this?), but her character’s referred to young Donna, and how her relationships in the past influenced present day occurrences.
In the second installment, Cinderella‘s Lily James, Jessica Keenan Wynn and Alexa Davies are set to to take on younger versions of Streep, Baranski and Walters’ characters. Even Cher gets screen time! The trailer’s already filled with heartwarming, comical (and maybe cheesy) moments with stunning views of the Grecian island, and we can’t WAIT to revel in all of its glory.
Ol Parker’s (Best Exotic Marigold Hotel) Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again is due in cinemas on July 20, 2018.
