Malaysia is Still “Safe” Despite Rampant Gun-Crimes?

PEW PEW!

Inspector-General of police Tan Sri Khalid Abu Bakar feels that Malaysia is still “safe” and we should trust the police.

Safe? S.A.F.E.?

Sorry if we’re overreacting, but didn’t we see a rise in gun-related crimes over the last two weeks?

“I would like to urge Malaysians to put their trust in the police force to solve these cases. Certain people have taken the opportunity to blame us and make us the scapegoat.

It may look like there are a lot of firearms in the country but let us monitor and take the appropriate action”.

He added that we’re not dealing with a mad man on a shooting spree as each shooting and murder case had its own background and fact.

While that may be true to an extent as most people with guns would probably be much more sophisticated in their ‘work’, aren’t thieves and petty criminals getting more brutal when it came to obtaining what they wanted?

Before this, a thief would only threaten to harm you to get you to cooperate, but now they’re more ruthless and do not care about hurting anyone. Just yesterday, a jobless man was shot dead at a restaurant!

So where do we go from here? Khalid said that the police will be taking over the army’s border patrol duties after Hari Raya, and added that the patrol duties, known as Ops Wawasan would allow the police to keep tabs on cross border criminal activities such as human and weapons trafficking.

Yes, like Mexico!

While we certain do appreciate the effort the police are making, to consider Malaysia a safe place would be lying to its citizens. One can spread a net of safety over the nation, but there’s always a way to rip it apart.
