Just when you thought junk food couldn’t get any junkier, KFC Japan introduces its most innovative invention yet – fried soup.
Yes, soup that is fried. You’re probably wondering – How is soup fried? How do I fry soup? Why would they do this? Why would I eat that? What would I eat that? Why does that look so delicious?
According to Rocketnews24, the fried soup is to compliment the current food trend in Japan – the creamy soup corn potage. The soup flavor has become so popular, it’s even turned into a ice-cream popsicle flavor. But while ice-cream brand Gari Gari-kun decides to freeze their soup, fast food giant KFC Japan decided to run the opposite direction and deep fry the soup.
But don’t worry – it’s not going to be a boiling hot bowl filled with corn potage of oil. NO! It’s going to be a fried corn potage fritter, and that is making our tummies rumbling!
According to KFC Japan, “We bread the corn potage and cook it to a crisp”. Claiming it to be crispy on the outside, while soft and creamy on the inside, we can’t imagine this piece of deep fried sorcery would taste bad. But here’s what it’s meant to look like:
