Job of the century: full-time mom!

Having children is no easy task. There will come a time where one parent is expected to quit their job and take on the responsibility of being a full time parent and very often it is the wife. Being a full time mother means you’re giving up your career and any chances of excelling in your chosen line. Sometimes, you lose your social life along the way. In exchange of all that, what you get is to dedicate more time to your little ones. After all children require the most guidance and love from their parents during the early stages of their life.

There is a saying that being a full time mother is the highest paying job in the world since the payment is in love. In today’s day and age, feminists would consider it chauvinistic for women to take on full time parent role alone but while some do it because they had no choice, most do it because they want to.

My mother used to say that she regretted quitting her job but it was her presence and dedication that raised us to be the people we are today. As a full time mother you also ensure that your child has a healthy food intake and diet. Many children are unhealthy and obese at such a young age these days because both parents work full time and they’re given pocket money to make their own food choices. Children as we all know make choices based on what looks and tastes good to them which will lead to an unhealthy diet.

There are many women who regret quitting their jobs and becoming full time mothers many years down the road. Reason being they slowly lost contact of the outside world, lacked social skills and often felt lonely. Many did not have a reason to take care of their appearances as they were always tired with managing the household and the kids, this can lead to low self esteem. It’s important that your husband shares the responsibility of raising the kids with you especially after his work. It’s important to take time off to pamper yourself and catch up with friends and ex-colleagues once in awhile. Most full time mothers have opt to start small online e-businesses which allows them to work from home.

For some reason, women who are able to juggle both career and family always seem to draw more respect. However most full time mothers have the pride of saying they were there when their little one said their first words or learned to tie his own shoelaces and these are memories that all the money in the world can’t buy. You want to be the one who teaches him all the right things things in life like compassion and patience. We’re not saying that you should quit your job to be stay at home mums but always find a balance between work and family. After all, its a known fact that women are multi taskers! And if Angelina Jolie can do it, so can you!
