Good news if you’re addicted to snapping photos, as Instagram has recently confirmed the testing of a tool to cross-post Stories as WhatsApp status. Finally, users are able to post on three platforms –Instagram, Facebook and Whatsapp– without having to manually upload content one by one.
WhatsApp statuses have several features in common with Stories, including the fact that they disappear after 24 hours.
What’s more, users can also choose who sees that status. Privacy settings default to contacts only, but users can also log in and choose to exclude specific contacts or to create a list of contacts allowed to see the post.
For now, cross-posting between Instagram and Whatsapp is only available for (some) users in Brazil, while the rest of the world may still have to wait.
