We all want to play matchmaker and set our best friends up with a man they will end up spending ‘happy ever after’ together, right? Well, if you like to think you have an ‘eye’ for setting people up, here are some decent pointers to keep in mind before you start shooting arrows like Cupid!

Find Out if She Wants Someone
Observe your friend and her behaviors and find out if she’s lonely. There’s no point in pushing your friend to date someone when she’s not even interested to go out. If she admits it out loud that she’s truly happy with her current situation, then it may be time to back off. But if she’s constantly looking sad about not having met anyone, it’s time to step in!

Know What She Wants
Every woman has a type of man she’s attracted to. Whether it’s a physical aspect, or their personality, it’s good to get a good look at what her options are. The best thing to do is to list them all down, but do you really have to follow that list? Not necessarily, but we’ll discuss that shortly.

Meet the Guy First
The last thing you want is to set your friend up with a guy and then find her to be so disappointed by the man you set her up with. We’re don’t insist that you need to drill him with a lot of questions about himself, but you should spend a little time with him to get an idea of what he’d be like if your friend went out on a date with.

Meet as a Group
Unless your friend insists on being alone, letting her meet him in a group can take a whole lot of pressure off both parties. A relaxed social situation like a fun group dinner, bowling and karaoke can ease some pressure off those two, and they’ll have a chance to hang out as peers instead of desperate love birds.

Don’t Force It
There are times when you look at a couple, you observe them and think to yourself, “they’re perfect together”. Well, even if they are, once they’re doing pretty stable together, you may want to let them do their own thing. Ask your friend how they’re doing once in a while, but don’t push them to do anything further or suggest they go any further unless they’re asking you about it.
