How to Fall in Love and Not Lose Yourself

Fall in Love With a Person, Not the Companionship.
Don’t go out looking for love because you’re afraid of being alone. When you fall in love with companionship, you become dependent and unhinged on losing a loved one. Your perception of love is blinded by the arrangement of needing someone in your life, and that is NOT falling in love. So, meet someone because you’d like to get to know someone new for a change, and if things go right, don’t hesitate to tell him how you feel.

Spend Time with the People Who Know You Best
When we have our head up in the clouds all the time, we need to humble ourselves back down to the ground so that we don’t get carried away with our emotions. Taking some time out from romance could be good for you, even if it’s just one day from a week. Whether it’s spending time with your girlfriends, or being at home with your family, it’ll give you the chance to reconnect with yourself and the people who’ve always mattered in your life.

Know Who You Are and What You Need
Whether it’s on a piece of paper, or a mental list, think about all the things you know about yourself as a person. Be completely honest and include your personal needs. Once you know what you want for yourself, express these needs to your partner clearly. You should also learn to understand your partner’s thoughts and feelings, as well. You can’t expect your man to accept you without accepting him, right?

Accept Your Flaws and His Too
Men are often more capable of honesty, and females are more capable of taking it the wrong way. Men wouldn’t necessarily judge, but they will in fact express how they feel without the intention to hurt you. Do not mistake a man who criticizes all the time from a man who simply points out of the obvious. And when you do, pointing out your flaws would not really scar you at all. All in all, it does in fact depend on character too.
