Identify Your Interests
The first step to choosing the path you want to succeed in is to know what your primary interested and passions are. That should help give you a specific list of jobs that you’re capable of, and what might interest you.

Know Your Skills and Strong Points
As soon as you have an idea of what you want as a career, take the time to evaluate your skills. We don’t mean just typing skills, but in terms of great interpersonal communications skills, research, management and leadership, and more. Focus on these skills of yours and work on these skills to make them one of your specialties.

Try Out a Career Test
The internet is filled with online tools to help you in your process to self-discovery. Now, these tests may not be the most accurate in telling you what the ideal career would be for you, but it can help you identify what’s important in your career, or what you have the potential to excel at. Try here.

Start Somewhere
Everyone needs a platform to start when it comes to building a career. Whether it’s volunteering or taking a position as an assistant in a company that’s relevant to your field, it always helps to develop a couple of skills to benefit your future.

Focus on What You Love
It’s important that your are committed and passionate about what you plan to do in the future. With passion, you will hardly ever encounter moments where you’d like quitting or giving up on your job.

Participate in Various Internships
Internships give you both work experience and the chance to learn something about yourself too. In fact, you can also give a few internships a try. Although finances can be hard to manage, look out for paying internships or ones that pay allowances.

Attend a Career Fest
Career tests do not only give you an inside look into what’s in demand in terms of careers, but it also gives you the chance to network and even ask questions without feeling the pressure like you would in an interview.

Don’t Limit Yourself
When thinking about your skills, consider all types of activities like volunteering, hobbies, and life experiences.

Brainstorm with Friends, Colleagues and Mentors
You may have overlooked some of your own personal skills, so get your friends and colleagues to tell you what are some of your strong points, and once you realize what your other skills are, articulate these skills better.

Take Up Some Skills
Some skills require specific education or skills. But even if you do have a degree, taking up short courses on new topics like social media management, or additional leadership and management classes could help you go further up the ladder.
