We’re mostly in denial and can concur that age is nothing but a number, but when there’s word about ways to turn back the clock, or make it tick a little while longer, we’re all ears.

Get this – women who surround themselves with plants live 12% longer, according to a recent study done by the Harvard school of Public Health. Interesting isn’t it?

Women who lived in homes surrounded by more vegetation have significantly lower mortality rates than those who live in areas with less vegetation, and the correlation between exposure to greenness and mortality rates was examined.

Several factors suggested by the study include improved mental health measured by levels of depression, increased chances for social engagements, higher physical activity, and lower exposure to air pollution.

With that said, whether you have a full-on backyard garden with blooms, herbs growing at the windowsill, luscious foliage surrounding your home, or some little terrariums placed by your desk, you’ll reap the benefits.

Now, that’s a substantial reason to start sharpening your green thumb, don’t you think? 😉
