Okay, this may be a little too much.
Google has just invented “smart contact lenses” that literally bring technology in direct contact with your corneas.
Developed in Google X lab and patented in 2012, the contact lens is created with an embedded circuit, camera and sensor. The wearable gadget allows users to take and process raw images from their lens.
This product could change lives for blind wearers though. By capturing images via lenses, the photos can relay environmental factors through a different sense.
If an object appears before a visually impaired wearer, a buzz or vibration could be transmitted as an alert.
Although this is highly innovative, is it necessary that the tech touches our eyeballs? It seems a little too close for comfort.
