Google now gives you real time road congestion updates in Penang, Ipoh and Melaka on Google Maps now.
This new feature is part of Google’s ongoing efforts to give Malaysians the most comprehensive, accurate and easy-to-use maps. Earlier this year, Traffic and Transit for Google Maps in Malaysia was just launched, and now with the Traffic layer available in Ipoh, Melaka and Penang, the Google Maps app will serve even more purpose for Malaysian users, especially those who commute daily to these areas.
The Traffic layer gives users real time road congestion updates right on the map, helping users get from one place to another with ease. Colors are used to indicate the traffic situation – red for bumper-to-bumper traffic, yellow for slow moving transit, and green for free-flowing traffic.
According to Google, the traffic data is refreshed every few minutes to give user fresh, up-to-date and accurate information about their destinations.
