With eye-popping colours and painted effects, the new Furla Spring/Summer 2015 collection plays with fashion, art and graphics, melding the worlds with an understated elegance and upbeat energy.
Inspired by the neo-pop artistic movement, which is a post-modern interpretation of pop art, the new styles feature lively colours, mainly festive shades of sunshine, hibiscus orange and ocean blue, contrasted by softer shades of white, gray and dove.
Splashes of colours are often combined to form daring colour-block effects, adding a unique personality to the new Furla Twist Bag, a versatile and labour-intensive bucket-shaped shopper, complete with a metal bar and woven inner compartment.
Furla also presents the season’s novelty shape: the soft-edged Furla Spy backpack in soft nappa and suede that is adorned with various studs in burnished metal that give off a graphic polka dot effect.
In the iconic Furla Metropolis bag, a small chain-strapped bag embellished by hand-stitched padded details that trace geometric motifs down the front, the clasp features a multi-colour rubber coating in pretty colour combinations. The same details are also seen on the new Furla Alice tote.
The latest version of the iconic Furla Candy bag in soft PVC is an explosion of colours and opposing textures that add a touch of playful glamour to any day. The latest version also features resin brush-stroke effects that vary from subtle trickles to bold splotches, rigorously hand-applied to make each bag unique.
Further strengthening Furla’s bond with art is the collaboration with Tokyo-based illustrator, Maho Tonouchi, who inspired the interactive artistic installation, starring the new Furla bags that will be presented during Milan Fashion Week.
