A former member of local R&B/Hip Hop act Ruffedge, was recently charged for raping his 14-year-old stepdaughter.
He was charged last February or raping his stepdaughter, who was only 14 at the time, at their home in Gombak. According to Hype.My, the former singer was sentenced to 20 years imprisonment and 10 strokes of caning by the Sessions Court.
The judge had ordered the accused, 38, to start the sentence today. However, the judge allowed the sentence to be deferred until after an appeal is done in the High Court.
The accused was charged under Section 376 (2) (d) which carries a maximum of 30 years imprisonment and caning if found guilty of charges.
